Dr. McDonald is the Principal Consultant of the organization.  With over two decades of experience in all facets of emergency medical services (EMS), public safety, and emergency management.  In Dr. McDonald's last role he was an Assistant Professor of Emergency Management and Public Affairs as well as Program Coordinator for all Emergency Management and Fire related courses at the State University of New York, Empire State College.  Dr. McDonald has been program coordinator of a hospital based paramedic program, a hospital administrator for EMS and public safety, and an emergency manager.  Dr. McDonald is heavily involved in EMS education and training.  Dr. McDonald is involved in many advisory committees and boards in EMS and higher education.

 

Dr. McDonald holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Public Policy and Administration with a concentration in Policy Analysis from Walden University, a Master's of Public Administration from Columbia Southern University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management and Fire Protection from the State University of New York, Empire State College.  Dr. McDonald is a 2013 Fellow of the Emergency Management Academy and a 2014 graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Executive Leadership Program.  Dr. McDonald is a 2018 Fellow of the American College of Paramedic Executives.   Dr. McDonald is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha National Honor Society of Public Affairs, the International Association of Emergency Managers, the National Association of EMTs, and the National Association of EMS Educators.
